I developed this curriculum in collaboration with daycare owner and operator, Eileen Pekar, and owner of Biomes Marine Biology Center, Mark Hall for my Girl Scout Gold Award project in 2015. This curriculum is designed for 3rd to 5th grade classrooms, and is modeled after scout badge-earning programs. Focusing on hands-on, investigative learning this curriculum provides a guide for navigating topics such as by-catch, bioaccumulation, and environmental stewardship. It is highly suggested to educators that this curriculum be accompanied by short lectures introducing each of these topics.
